Villa Oost Indies is located in Seminyak’s vibrant ‘eat street’ district, so there is a plethora of dining options to choose from. However, should you choose to stay in, a private chef (available at extra charge) is on hand to prepare gourmet meals. He is adept at Asian, Western and Indonesian cuisine. Enjoy generous breakfasts of fresh-brewed coffee, tropical fruits, pastries and eggs any style, and lunch or dinner highlights from the extensive suggestion menu, such as pumpkin and lemongrass soup, club sandwiches, chicken curry, Balinese specialities including crispy bebek (roast duck) and pepes ikan (fish in banana leaf). Pineapple crumble, and strawberry and mango cream puffs are among the tempting deserts on offer. The beautiful gardens of the villa make a lovely setting for a seafood barbecue, while those wishing to sample traditional flavours of Indonesia can order Rijstaffel – a traditional-style banquet of eight delicious dishes.
The chef on extra will also be happy to tailor-make dishes to suit any special dietary requirements and offers a customised kids menu that will tempt even the fussiest of eaters. Meals can be ordered from the menu, or according to personal preference, but make sure to allow time for the chef to shop. Food provision is charged at grocery cost plus 20% handling fee. Kindly note that this handling fee is subject to 5% service charge and thereafter 10% government tax. Professional chef services, if required, is charged at USD 55++ per day.
